Marienkapelle at the Gamskogelhütte

Following a very serious car accident a lady by the name of Olga Hoffmann vowed to build a small chapel and named it the Marienkapelle or “Mary’s Chapel”. The project took years of planning, fundraising, help and support from the local diocese and thankfully in August 2003 the miracle occurred and the chapel was built and opened.
Just before the completion of the project a small natural spring was found running along the right hand side of the chapel. It is said locally, that this spring has beneficial healing qualities for eyes, stomach, intestine and helps healing wounds. The truth regarding these powers will be closely monitored and analysed in the future.
