Ponyalm - the perfect destination for the little ones
A visit to the Ponyalm in Gontal can't be missing during your summer or autumn holiday in the Katschberg Lieser-Maltatal region. At the Ponyalm you have the possibility to pet and groom the ponies and also take a ride with them.
Beside the pony riding there are also the following highlights available at the Ponyalm at Katschberg:

Horse-drawn carriage rides to the Ponyalm and Pritzhütte
The Pritzhütte and the Ponyalm are popular destinations for the whole family and can be reached by foot (4 km) or also by horse-drawn carriages. The horse-drawn carriage rides with the "Ponyalmexpress" start at the town centre of Katschberghöhe and lead through the nature reserve Gontal to the Ponyalm at the Pritzhütte with an average 2 hp. A true pony adventure for kids is waiting there - including petting and riding! It is mandatory to make a booking for the horse-drawn carriage directly at the alpine horse center Katschberg.

The alpine horse center Katschberg offers numerous possibilities to discover the whole region on the backs of their horses. Beginners can make their first tries inside Austria’s highest horse riding hall on 1.650m altitude. Very popular are the good-natured Norikers or the cute ponies that make the children's hearts skip a beat. Experienced riders may enjoy the fresh mountain air during a horse ride at Katschberg while passing by flowering fields and rushing mountain streams. It is mandatory to make a booking for the directly at the alpine horse center Katschberg.
The nature reserve Gontal at Katschberg
Not only the Ponyalm at the Pritzhütte is a special destination at the nature reserve Gontal, it is also the starting point for several hiking trails to different summits of the Katschberg Lieser-Maltatal region or the Salzburger Lungau. During summer and autumn you can also visit various traditional events in Gontal during Bauernherbst season - the Katschberger HoamArt.
