    Winter Hiking Trails Katschberg - Rennweg - St. Margarethen

    The area also boasts approximately 30 kilometer of winter hiking trails. If you are looking for an alternative to skiing or just want to enjoy the fantastic winter landscape at a slower pace.

    KATSCHBERG

    Katschberg Winter Hiking Trail
    From Landal via hiking trail 17: very sunny and windless; beautiful view towards Carinthia and the slopes of the Gamskogel lift. No car traffic, no crossing any slopes.
    Please note: no circular route, no opportunity to stop off for refreshments, not suitable for prams.

    Gamskogelhütte at Katschberg - Open daily
    From Katschberghöhe via the family sledding trail 19 (entry approx. 100 m after Pizzeria Stamperl); approx. 1.5 km/200 metre difference in altitude.
    Please note: no circular route, not suitable for prams.

    Pritzhütte in the Gontal - Open daily
    From Katschberghöhe, after passing Pizzeria Stamperl follow the signposts for Pritzhütte. Approx. 4 km/80 metre difference in altitude.

    RENNWEG

    Schoberblickhütte at Pöllatal
    You can reach this hut from Rennweg 6 km in the valley of Pölla.
    Winter Opening times: Wednesday to Sunday

    Winter Hiking Trail at Laussnitztal
    Accessible by car over Frankenburg and Laußnitz. Stop off at the quaint rustic Bonner Hütte. This route can be explored by day an night with snowshoes or by sleigh.

    ST. MARGARETHEN / LUNGAU

    Hiking Trail Leisnitz
    At the entrance of the Leisnitzgraben there is a large car park from where you can start the winter hike - always following the Leisnitz, a wild torrent - characterized by stations of storytelling of the lonely giant and other information boards. Follow the sign "Wasserweg Leisnitz" and at the end of the path you will reach the Alpengasthof Schlögelberger with its wildlife park. There you have the opportunity to observe the wild feeding in the afternoon about 3 pm, stop for refreshments. Alternative return is the cleared Schlögelbergweg (public road - very little traffic) to the starting car park. A beautiful, quiet circular walk for Young and old. Duration approx. 2 hours - not suitable for prams!
