The nature reserve Pöllatal

Hiking adventures for the whole family & starting point for summit ascents

At Rennweg, as part of the holiday region Katschberg, there is the nature reserve Pöllatal. It is the perfect destination for a summer holiday with kids. A 6 km long path is leading through the valley that is also suitable for kids, along the mountain stream Lieser. Traditional huts, a barbecue place, a playground with a relaxation area, an arsenic show hut, several entries to the stream and an adventurous climbing rock guarantee the perfect day trip for the whole family.

The Pöllatal can be reached by car to P1 and further through the valley by walking, by bike or by the nostalgic TschuTschu Bahn train.

Water adventure & alpine huts

Moreover, the stream adventure path, a flat hiking path, offers a great nature experience for adults and kids. Guided by presentation boards, kids of all ages may explore the nature, enjoy the crystal clear water and resolve plenty of riddles. The Schoberblickhütte and the Kochlöffelhütte, offering traditional specialties of Carinthia, pet zoos and playgrounds, are recommended for a short stop during your family hiking day.

Starting point for more challenging hikes

Also, the nature reserve Pöllatal inside the holiday region Katschberg with its alps, straight sides, crests and streams, is a paradise for all mountain adventurers and acts as starting point for challenging hikes in summer.
