The race takes place every year on the second weekend in March in front of the wonderful backdrop of the Nockberge in Carinthia and is particularly characterized by the incredible view once you have worked your way up the peaks. But you have to do quite a bit for that. There are no fewer than 3 peaks to be mastered, which have to be climbed over a total of 4.500 meters in altitude over a total length of approx. 90 km over several racing days.
Every year, Europe's best mushers (= sled dog drivers) are guests in Innerkrems - together with their best friends, the Siberian huskies, the Alaskan malamutes, the Greenland dogs and the Samoyeds - the true superstars of every sled dog race.
